Queenstown Shopping

Visit Queenstown in the South Island for some of the best shopping in New Zealand. Queenstown is well-known for its high quality leather and wool products, as well as local and international designer clothing, jewellery, art, craft and home wares.

A collection of many small specialty shops concentrated in the area around Beach Street and The Mall in Queenstown is a great place to start. Most shops are open seven days a week, with extended hours until as late as 10.00pm.

The primary shopping centre is O'Connell's where you'll find a wide variety of shops with something for most tastes and budgets, as well as a large food court. Gallery Oceanic, located in Beach Street, provides a remarkable collection of art and craft by a range of New Zealand artists. The Bonz Gallery (upstairs in The Mall) has a fabulous selection of original designs, as well as 100% wool products including jumpers and jackets.

If it's a piece of locally-designed investment jewellery you're after, visit Goldfields Jade and Opal, top of The Mall or The Opal Centre on the corner of Beach and Rees Streets, for unusual pieces unlike anything you would have ever seen before.

There is a local arts and craft market every Saturday at Earnslaw Park in Queenstown. Here you'll meet the local artists selling their artwork, including some amazing pieces of pottery, paintings, sculptures and carvings.

The Visitor Centre offers a free Queenstown Dining and Shopping Guide providing all the information you need for a fabulous shopping experience in Queenstown.
